I am slowly compiling a list of places that are an absolute must for every person who comes to visit me. Because while some choices will be hard, others will be made for you before your arrival. For instance, while I will cook for you the things mentioned in my previous post, I will not cook you breakfast. We will go out for that, because it is, in my opinion, Portland’s best meal.
One of those absolute musts is the Little Red Bike CafĂ©. You need to make sure you are here on a non-Monday, because they are closed on Mondays, and we WILL go there while you are here. The Tuesday through Saturday menu is amazing, and most likely that is what we will have. But on Sundays they have a brunch menu and it’s different from the rest of the week. It also changes from week to week. Yesterday was my first Sunday visit to the LRBC, and this deliciousness is what I had:

"Carrot Cake" Challah French Toast: thick slices of challah dipped in a spiced carrot batter, served with maple cream-cheese butter, carrot ribbons and toasted walnuts
It was....amazing. I shared one bite, and one bite only.

I would visit just to eat that. No offense.
