I would like a $100 a week Farmer's Market budget please

My love for the Farmer’s Market grows. I hadn’t been in 2 weeks, so it was the first thing on my list of things to do today. No I did not spend $100 there, but I could have, if I had an extra $100 laying around. Would you like to know what I bought? If not, why are you still reading?

Asparagus and white turnips-my regular items
Strawberries that had been picked this morning (so said the sign, and I believe it)
Mango Madness Jelly (which will be consumed as a topping on Wheat Thin type crackers with cream cheese)
Bok Choy (I’ll let you know the results later in the week)
And my favorite: Chubut cheese. I think I hear angels singing just at the mention of it. I had been dreaming of this cheese since the last time I was at the market when I tasted it but did not buy it. At the time I had not started work and it felt like too much of a splurge. But now it feels like a necessity. It’s from a different cheese place than where I get the Havarti, and this place also sells wonderful goat cheese (something I have gotten into lately as well) which I will buy next time.
As I was leaving I passed by the booth of a bakery that I love, Two Tarts, and I realized that I had exactly $1.50 left, and their little cookies are $.75 each (yay for living in a state with no sales tax!), so I had myself a nice little two tart treat on my way back to the Max stop.

Rose City Pepperheads, the place I got the jelly, has these recipe sheets that they give out. Everything on it sounds amazing. I need you to come visit me so that I can make things like ribs with marionberry jelly or cheese dip with cream cheese and apricot jelly, or fajitas with holy habanero jelly, or pulled pork with Hawaiian jalapeno, or meatballs with raspberry chipotle jelly.

I’m so ready for tomatoes to be in season. Cherries have arrived, but not at the market. I got some at the store the other day though and they are really good. There’s an island not too far from here where you can go pick your own berries. I heard today that they will be perfect in about two weeks. I’m going to try to head there then. There are berries at the market now, but they seem quite expensive. I think it’s a much better price to go pick your own.

So that’s my Portland food that you buy and take home to cook and eat update for you.

Here's what I heard: "Farmers market...food...foods blah,blah...goats make cheese...I will cook wonderful foods for you."

Yes, please - he says, as he sits at his computer eating ramen noodles.
